Successful sustainability requires change. Organisational and individual change.
Culture is in any organisation. An organisation’s culture includes shared values, stories and meaning. Leading professional service network KPMG defines culture as being “made up of our people’s attitudes and behaviours, these reflect our shared values, experiences and aspirations.”
For successful sustainability to occur, sustainability has to be THE culture. There has to be an understanding and agreement that ‘this is how we do things around here.’ Visit Sustainability Leadership Development and The Good Country index blog to read more.
If you want to explore the state of your centre culture and uncover potential barriers to sustainability, add these questions to the agenda of your next meeting;
1. Who are we? What do we stand for? What is our purpose
2. What service do we provide? How well do we provide for it? What and how can we improve what we deliver?
